Former National Football League and University of Virginia football player Chris Long has been named honorary pace car driver for the April 3 Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway.

Long, who is a brand ambassador of WynnBET, will be participating in an on-site activation alongside Richmond Raceway’s iRacing simulator. He will be accepting challengers who will each have a chance to win tickets to the South Point 400 NASCAR Cup Series being held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Not only am I a Toyota owner, I've also had a lifelong dream of driving the pace car,” Long said.

Dennis Bickmeier, outgoing president of Richmond Raceway, is looking forward to having the Charlottesville native along for the series.

“Chris has achieved immense success on the gridiron, but his dedication to improve the lives of others through The Chris Long Foundation has built a legacy that will last for generations to come,” Bickmeier said.

Long’s foundation focuses on bringing together elite athletes and fans to help create solutions for clean water and educational access for overlooked neighbors. He is also the founder and host of the Green Light podcast, which features interviews, football analyses, and coverage of sports gambling.
