Florida police arrest 2 in string of vehicle thefts in Henrico, Chesterfield, Richmond

Police in Hollywood, Florida July 1 arrested a 20-year-old Richmond man and a juvenile from Chesterfield who were wanted in connection to several automobile thefts and related crimes in Henrico, Richmond and Chesterfield.

Sincere Price, 20, of Richmond, and the juvenile were arrested on stolen weapons charges in Florida, and Price also was charged with resisting arrest. Both suspects are being held at correctional facilities in Broward County, Florida, pending extradition to Henrico.

The pair is linked to several larcenies from automobiles, vehicle thefts, credit card frauds, and burglaries in the Richmond region. Chesterfield, Henrico and Richmond. A firearm also was reported stolen during one of the Henrico incidents and later recovered by authorities in Hollywood, Florida.

The arrests come days after Henrico Police partnered with surrounding law enforcement agencies to kick off the “Love My Ride” campaign. The mission is to spread awareness and share tips to help citizens prevent themselves from becoming a victim of an auto crime.

“July is Vehicle Theft Prevention Month and Henrico Police is strongly encouraging citizens to lock their doors and remove any valuable items from vehicles,” said Karina Bolster, a spokesperson for the Henrico County Police Division. “Don't let your ride or valuables become a part of a crime.”

The suspects are facing charges related to the June 15 or 16 thefts of:

• a vehicle from the 11700 block of Park Forest Court, an incident that also involved the theft of the victim’s ATM card;
• a vehicle from the 5000 block of Barnsley Terrace;
• a vehicle from the 12000 block of Summer Creek Court;
• a vehicle from Richmond found on Summer Creek Way.

Additionally, several victims experienced larcenies from automobiles during the same timeframe.
