As of Monday, all five of Henrico’s Area Libraries (Fairfield, Libbie Mill, Tuckahoe, Twin Hickory and Varina) are now open to the public. Additional locations will open soon, according to officials.

Those five libraries are now open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Fairfield and Libbie Mill also are open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Library programs will remain online, but meeting and study rooms are available to reserve with reduced capacities. Building occupancy will be limited, and officials will encourage social distancing and require both staff and members of the public to wear masks at all times.

A brief, touchless health screening is currently required to enter Henrico County facilities, including libraries.

Additionally, the library system remains open online for downloads, streaming, research and new services, such as digital library cards and virtual storytimes.

Meeting and study room reservations are available through new room reservation software called LibCal, which is available here.

The library system also is accepting online and phone requests for books and other physical items. Selected libraries – Gayton, Glen Allen, North Park and Sandston – offer curbside, contactless holds pickup. These libraries also accept returns on specific days. Call 501-1965 for the Gayton holds line; 501-1959 for the Glen Allen line; 501-1973 for the North Park line; and 501-1995 for the Sandston line.
