First-time unemployment filings in Henrico remain relatively stable for ninth straight week

Initial unemployment filings in Henrico during the most recent reporting week remained relatively stable for the ninth consecutive week, according to data from the Virginia Employment Commission.
A total of 123 people filed first-time claims in Henrico during the week of July 18-24. The weekly number has remained between 117 and 162 each week during the past two months or so.
Henrico, the sixth-largest locality in the state, had only the 12th-most first-time filers during the most recent week. A total of 1,121 people from Henrico who had previously filed initial claims were still filing continuing claims during the most recent week, a decrease of 45 people from the week prior. That total ranked Henrico eighth in the state.
