A laundry room fire overnight at the Masonic Home of Virginia in Eastern Henrico forced evacuation of 10 residents, but no one was injured.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday, according to Henrico Fire officials. Firefighters responded to a call of smoke coming from the laundry room and arrived to find black smoke and water in a residential hallway. The fire had been contained by an automatic fire suppression system.

Fire officials remained on scene to assist with the removal of water and smoke, and the Henrico Fire Marshal’s Officce is working to determine the origin of the fire.
