Finding new perspectives

(Editor's note: Tuckahoe Middle School seventh-grade English students recently wrote editorials designed to persuade Henrico citizens to read, listen to or watch a story or book that reflected their individual cultures, as a way to help others better understand them. My name is Anna Ray, and I am a seventh grade student at Tuckahoe Middle School. I belong to the Henrico community, as well as that of my neighborhood, my soccer team, my asketball team, and my friend groups. My family is very loving and supportive, and we love doing things together, like going to our river house and our farm. To understand me and my personality more, I think everyone should watch the Netflix series Anne with an E.

Anne with an E. is a Canadian television series created by Moira Walley-Beckett. It is based off of the classic book, Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. The main character, Anne Shirley Cuthbert, relates to me in a lot of ways. She is very positive and outgoing, and can bring a smile to anyone's face. She is also not afraid to speak her mind, and is very fascinated with all of the different cultures and lifestyles in the world around her. I also think people should watch this show because it can give you a glimpse into the life of a person who didn’t have the luxury of a loving family for most of her life, and went through some rather traumatic experiences.

I think the community should experience this show because it is very heartwarming, suspenseful, and great to watch with your family. Anne with an E has something for everybody, whether it’s romance, action, mystery, family, and much more. It can also help you understand the different cultures of people around the world, including African-Americans, Native Americans, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The book it is based on is also very good and I would definitely recommend it. In conclusion, Anne with an E is a great television series that can not only help people understand me and my personality more, but it can also give them a different perspective on life.
