Monacan shook off a slow start and pulled away for a 65-50 win over Highland Springs on December 4 in Virginia girls high school basketball.

The Chiefs’ leverage showed as they carried a 39-35 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Chiefs’ offense jumped to a 32-26 lead over the Springers at the intermission.

The Springers authored a promising start, taking advantage of the Chiefs 16-11 at the end of the first quarter.
