Final Henrico Schools' ‘Life-ready Expo’ to focus on arts, communications, media

Local students in grades 7-12 and their families will get a chance to explore careers in arts and communications March 9 at “Life-Ready Expo: Arts and Communications,” Henrico County Public Schools’ virtual career event. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to all area students.

The event is the last in this year’s HCPS’ Life-Ready Expo series, designed to expose students to possible career paths. Participants can visit virtual “rooms” to talk with employers from across the region representing a variety of career opportunities and learn about the educational qualifications employers want and what kind of compensation to expect. Attendees also will be able to ask questions and learn about careers in arts and communications.

Students who like to use their creativity, communicate effectively with others, work with technology, tell a story or work in a team setting should consider participating.

At the event, students, parents and guardians will have a chance to meet with a variety of employers and community partners, representing a variety of careers, including:
• animators;
• audio/video technicians;
• camera operators;
• designers;
• graphic artists;
• journalists;
• photographers;
• public relations specialists.

The virtual event will be conducted using Microsoft Teams. Attendees may participate using a browser without creating a Teams account.
