Feast on a fun run with Taco Trot 5k

Registration is now open for the second-annual virtual RVA Taco Trot 5k, a food-themed virtual fun run sponsored by Sports Backers.

Through May 17, participants can register for $17 at https://www.sportsbackers.org/events/taco-trot-5k/event-details/ and receive the official Taco Trot t-shirt, a printable Taco Trot race bib, and a virtual event badge. After registering, participants then run or walk a 5k (3.1 miles) on their own (making sure to follow social distancing guidelines). Sports Backers will send out shirts in early May (for those registered by April 30) or late May (for those registered after April 30).

Participants are encouraged to take a photo and send it to info@sportsbackers.org, tag @sportsbackers on social media, or use #RVATacoTrot, helping to make social distancing feel a little less isolating. Sports Backers has also compiled a list of local restaurants providing delivery or carryout options (https://www.sportsbackers.org/events/taco-trot-5k/event-details/) to help people enjoy a post-trot taco feast and support local businesses in the process.

“We had a great response from participants to the Taco Trot 5k in 2020," said Meghan Keogh, director of events for Sports Backers, "and we’re looking forward to another fun edition of the event over the next month.”
