Fatality reported in I-295 crash

At least one person died in a crash on I-295 northbound near Exit 37 (Mechanicsville Turnpike) Monday morning. Virginia State Police reported that the accident occurred in Henrico County, while the Virginia Department of Transportation said it took place in Hanover County. The border between the two counties runs through the immediate vicinity of the crash. Northbound lanes in the area were completely closed for several hours following the crash.
