Fantasy/sci-fi podcast co-hosted by Henrico woman nominated for Hugo Award

Table of Contents

For the fourth year in a row, the Worldbuilding for Masochists podcast – co-hosted by Henrico citizen Cass Morris – has been nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Fancast. The Hugos recognize excellence in the field of science fiction and fantasy and are awarded by the World Science Fiction Society at each year’s WorldCon. The Hugo Award ceremony will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, this August during WorldCon.

The podcast, which began in 2019, takes readers, writers, and world-creators alike through all the elements one might consider when building alternative worlds, whether they are fantasy, science fiction, or role-playing-inspired.

The show releases new episodes every other Wednesday, exploring history, culture, science, and more. Guests include an array of award-winning writers, editors, and creators in the SFF community and beyond, weighing in on how they worldbuild.

“Getting to do this podcast with such amazing people – my co-hosts and all our fabulous guests – is a constant joy,” Morris said. “I’m so grateful to our listeners for their enthusiasm.”
