The Virginia Home for Boys and Girls will host Family Night in the Outfield Oct. 25 at The Diamond, 3001 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard. The evening will feature socially distanced pods for families and friends, who will enjoy a boxed dinner and viewing of Addams Family movie, a computer-animated comedy-mystery film rated PG.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and showtime will be 6:30 p.m.. Children are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costume for a costume contest. Blankets and pillows are welcome, but lawn chairs are not permitted.

VHBG, a Henrico nonprofit that supports youth in crisis and depends on fundraising to support nearly half its operating budget, has had to make significant alterations to fundraising plans this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family Night in the Outfield was designed not only to help recover some of the lost revenue from cancelled events, but also to provide families the opportunity to enjoy an evening knowing they are supporting a good cause.

Pods can be reserved at a cost of $120 for a 10-foot by 10-foot pod accommodating four people, or $240 for a 10-foot by 20-foot pod for eight people.  To register or for details, visit http://bit.ly/VHBG_FamilyNightTickets or contact Sarah Blazincic at SBlazincic@vhbg.org or 616-802-0052.
