Fairfield Area Library opens

[maxgallery id="43212"]Henrico officials welcomed hundreds of visitors to the new Fairfield Area Library Sunday, christening the new facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours.

The library is nearly 45,000 square feet in size and features a fireplace and reading area, a digital media lab, dedicated areas for children and teens, drive-up service, more than 100 public computers, a 96-person meeting room and many other amenities.

It is one of two libraries in the county to offer Sunday hours. It's open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 pm. Friday and Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
