ESPN Richmond 950AM/102.7 FM will host its 10th annual Holiday Cheer and Gear, presented by Lexus of Richmond, Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Dick’s Sporting Goods at Short Pump Town Center from 9:50 a.m. to 7:40 p.m.

Holiday Cheer & Gear is an official Salvation Army Christmas Assistance program created in 2007 to aid an underserved group of children and teens who benefit from the Salvation Army during the holiday season.

While thousands of toys and presents were being donated and distributed to young children throughout Greater Richmond, there was a lack of gifts for boys and girls ages 10 to 16. Holiday Cheer & Gear focuses on collecting new sporting goods to deliver to that neglected group of young boys and girls.

“With this being the tenth anniversary of Holiday Cheer and Gear, ESPN Richmond is excited to partner with the Richmond areas best recognized sporting goods retailer, Dick’s Sporting Goods, so that our loyal listeners can shop and drop off their donation for the Salvation Army at one location,” said Mitchell Bradley, Program Director for ESPN Richmond.

ESPN Richmond will broadcast live at Dick's Sporting Goods, 11800 West Broad Street, for 9 hours, 50 minutes beginning at 9:50 a.m. The goal is to collect donations and help bring awareness to the needy children in the area during the holidays. Donations are invited throughout the day.
