Dorey Park to host 2021 National Collegiate championships, US Team Trials

Henrico’s Dorey Park is quickly becoming the archery capital of the United States.
The park will host the 136th USA Archery Target National and U.S. Open Aug. 12-15, and today county officials announced that it also will host the 2021 National Collegiate Target Championships and World University Games – U.S. Team Trials next May 20-23.
The latter event will attract hundreds of the nation’s top collegiate student archers. The event will include a welcome parade for teams, qualification round, mixed team and team events and finally individual elimination matches.
The U.S. Team Trials will determine the United States team for the 2021 World University Games, which will take place that August in Chengdu, capital of the Sichuan province of China.
This year’s USA Archery Target Nationals and U.S. Open event is expected to attract about 400 competitors and affiliated families and supporters, as well as local spectators.
