Table of Contents

The Farm Market Fresh Senior and WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program allows eligible seniors to receive 10 vouchers valued at $5 each. The vouchers can be used at participating farmers' markets and roadside stands from June 1 through Nov. 17.

To be eligible, participants must be 60 years or older, live in a locality that participates in the program, and not live in the same household as, or be an immediate family member of, the farmer who grows the produce. Qualifying seniors also must meet the program's income requirements.

The WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program was established by Congress in July 1992 to provide fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits and vegetables through farmers’ markets and roadside stands to WIC participants, and to expand awareness and use of, and sales at, farmers’ markets and roadside stands.

The program is open to pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants (5-12 months) and children (1 year to 5 years of age), who are eligible to receive $30 worth of farmers’ market checks to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from approved vendors.
WIC families who are served by one of these WIC clinics are eligible.
