Seventy-two top senior golfers will return to Henrico County Oct. 20-23 for the 2022 Dominion Energy Charity Classic, a 54-hole PGA Tour Champions event at the Country Club of Virginia, James River Course.

This year’s event will include some new additions for fans and the return of a pre-pandemic favorite: the autograph zone.

The Autograph Zone presented by Lansing Building Products will allow kids and other attendees to get pictures and autographs from golfers. In addition, a new wine garden and a reimagined fan zone will be in place. A third green (No. 10) will offer fold-up seats that fans can take home if they’re sitting in one when the day’s last putt drops. And the Woodford Reserve bar will be located at the main entrance near the No. 9 green.

The Henrico Sports and Entertainment Authority’s fan zone will include food, drink and entertainment options, including several locally-based food trucks.

For the third year, the tournament also will host a Friday night concert – this time from Grand Ole Opry member and multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter Lauren Alaina.

“Companies in the greater Richmond region have realized how beneficial it is to them both professionally and from a community-impact perspective to support the tournament, and we are again humbled to have them all on board in our seventh year,” said tournament Executive Director Steve Schoenfeld. “Professional golf offers a unique platform for business-to-business marketing, relationship-building, and charitable giving. Now it’s on us to deliver an exceptional experience for everyone this October.”

Since its debut in 2016, the tournament has helped to generate more than $7.3 million for nonprofits in Richmond and its surrounding counties.

Tickets for the event are available online.
