DGIF seeks public comments on fishing, boating

Table of Contents

If you have thoughts about how the state regulates fishing or boating, now is your chance to speak up.

Every two years, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries reviews its guidelines governing recreational fishing, aquatic wildlife management and boating – and that process is underway again. Beginning Dec. 30 and continuing through Feb. 28, citizens can provide their input to the agency.

Those comments will be summarized and presented to the DGIF’s Wildlife and Boat Committee March 18 and the full board the following day. Both sets of presentations will occur at the agency’s headquarters, 7870 Villa Park Drive in Henrico.

All items submitted will be reviewed by DGIF staff, summarized, and presented to DGIF’s Wildlife and Boat Committee on Wednesday, March 18 and the full Board on Thursday, March 19.
