CVS announced today that it will open four new COVID-19 testing sites at Henrico locations beginning tomorrow.
CVS stores at 12410 West Broad Street, 9501 Woodman Road, 8900 Patterson Avenue and 7590 Staples Mill Road will begin offering the tests June 12.
Those locations will join four other CVS sites in the county – at 5001 West Broad Street, 8820 West Broad Street, 3001 Lauderdale Drive and 1205 N. Laburnum Avenue – that have been offering testing for several weeks. In total, CVS will now offer testing at 76 of its locations statewide.
Registration is required in advance at CVS.com. At each site, a CVS official will provide a self-swab test to a patient who has registered and will observe to ensure the swab is conducted correctly. Patients will remain in their cars throughout the process.
There are no out-of-pocket costs for the tests for insured or uninsured patients, according to CVS.
Tests will be sent to an independent, third-party lab for processing and the results will be available in about three days, company officials said.
