Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer partnered with Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity for the second quarter of 2022 through its Thalhimer Gives program, a company-wide initiative focused on community involvement and charitable giving. Through Thalhimer Gives, associates engage in the community by donating financially, providing supplies, and giving of their time to local nonprofit organizations.

Thalhimer associates raised $5,696 for Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity through Friday Jeans donations. The Friday Jeans program allows Thalhimer associates to wear jeans every Friday and make a monetary donation to the Thalhimer Gives partner organization, along with a company match.

Thalhimer also provided associates with paid time off to give back through volunteer efforts for Habitat for Humanity, during which they spent two separate full days at ReStore helping to receive and process donations from cleaning donations items to sorting, assembling, pricing, and then placing all of the items on the showroom floor.

A team of eight associates also helped at a Richmond Habitat for Humanity construction site, working to finish the exterior of the build site and wrap with Tyvek, as well as helping to build a closet, removing and cutting all of the old wiring, pulling nails from ceiling beams to prepare it for drywall, and performing general clean-up work inside.

Associates also donated an assortment of construction items for Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, along with Home Depot gift cards.

“It was wonderful to have associates out at our build sites and our Richmond ReStore,” said Whitney Guthrie, director of community engagement, for Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity. “[V]olunteers are crucial to our work at Habitat and help us make the dream of homeownership a reality in our community!"
