The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will host a free public opening reception for new exhibits Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. The event will feature the unveiling of "Opening Minds Through Art," an award-winning Scripps inter-generational art program, and "Regional & Other Splendors," showcasing the works of local artists.

The OMA program pairs people with dementia and volunteers to create abstract art. The exhibit aims to showcase the creative abilities of people with dementia while fostering intergenerational friendships. The reception will offer a chance to meet the artists and learn more about the program.

"Regional & Other Splendors" features the works of two artists: Robert J. Schuler, whose paintings capture the beauty of nature and local landscapes; and Chief Babs, who draws inspiration from his childhood in Northern Ghana, celebrating traditional African culture.

In addition, an exhibit from the RVA LEGO Users Group will showcase the work of LEGO enthusiasts from Fredericksburg to Emporia.

A wine and beer cash bar will be available at the event, with proceeds supporting CACGA's ArtReach programs. CACGA is located at 2880 Mountain Road in Glen Allen.
