Crash in Eastern Henrico kills Chesterfield woman

A 2003 Dodge Dakota was heading eastbound on Route 895 (Pocahontas Parkway) in Eastern Henrico when it went off the left side of the road at the six-mile marker, struck a guardrail, overturned, and came to rest in the westbound lanes at about 3:16 p.m., according to Virginia State Police. Shirley Bain, 53, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, was thrown from the vehicle and died of her injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of the Dakota, 52-year-old Christopher Bain of North Chesterfield, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Twenty-four year-old Courtney O'Neill of North Chesterfield and a 6-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, Virginia State Police said.
