COVID cases reported at 4 Henrico schools since Sept. 21

Cases of COVID-19 have been reported at four Henrico County public schools since Sept. 21, according to data from the school system. All four schools are in Eastern Henrico, and none previously had reported a case during the summer or new school year.

They are:
• Elko Middle (Sept. 28);
• Montrose Elementary (Sept. 30);
• Varina Elementary (Sept. 30);
• Baker Elementary (Oct. 5).

The case at Montrose involved an employee who hadn’t been in the school since nearly three weeks earlier (Sept. 10), and the case at Varina involved one who hadn’t been in the building since Sept. 14.

In total, the school system has now reported 33 cases at 26 schools since August.
