Costen Floors celebrates 70 years

Costen Floors, a family-owned, Henrico-based flooring company, celebrated its 70th anniversary July 31.
The company has served homeowners and businesses in the Richmond region since its founding by Ralph L. Costen, Sr. in 1948. Costen's son, Ralph Coster, Jr., recalled his father's mentality of treating customers fairly as a guiding principle of the business.
The younger Costen, has lived within 10 miles of the business his entire life and takes pride in the company's connection with its surrounding community.
“Costen Floors has made an impact in this area, and it’s made it because of our dedication to the area, our dedication to the community,” he said. “We want to make sure we do the right thing.”
The family-focused company is involved with several charity organizations, such as the American Heart Association, in addition to giving back to others in the area.
