Henrico reported a total of 298 new confirmed COVID-19 cases from Saturday through Monday, according to Virginia Department of Health data, and its seven-day average number of new daily cases has dipped slightly to 108.

The county reported 132 new cases Saturday, 98 Sunday and 68 Monday. Confirmed cases in the county during the past month typically have been lower Sundays and Mondays.

Henrico reported only one new COVID-related hospitalization during the most recent three days and no new virus-related deaths.

The entire state of Virginia remains in the “high” transmission classification, which results whenever confirmed cases are greater than 100 per 100,000 people or the PCR testing percent positivity percentage exceeds 10%. The state is averaging more than 282 new cases per 100,000 people and has a positivity percentage just shy of 10%.

Since Sept. 6, children 9 years old and younger have accounted for the most confirmed COVID cases of any age group in Henrico (86) among the 399 cases for which age data is available. Those 10 to 19 have accounted for the second-highest amount (76) from that total, while no other group has reported more than 51 cases (people in their 30s).

Age data for a total of 269 other cases in Henrico during that timeframe is not currently available, according to the VDH.

Just more than 1,000 people received their first dose of COVID vaccine during the past four days, while slightly more than 1,200 became fully vaccinated, according to VDH data. More than 64% of the county’s population now has had at least one dose of vaccine, while almost 58% is fully vaccinated.
