Henrico Citizen Managing Editor Patty Kruszewski has won two awards in the 2019 National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest.

The winning entries in the NFPW contest were among four of Kruszewski’s entries that advanced to the national competition after winning first place awards in this year’s Virginia Professional Communicators contest.

Kruszewski collected third-place honors in the NFPW contest in the personal opinion category for two Family Forum columns about connecting with children, entitled “Closeness and How it Grows” and “Planting the Seeds of Conversation.”

She also won a third place award in the specialty article category for health and fitness.  “T-Rex Run” described last year’s inaugural Richmond Road Runners event at Dorey Park, how the popular event was inspired, and how it developed.

Awards were presented June 29 at the NFPW conference held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
