ChamberRVA’s 'Mission Tomorrow' to offer eighth-graders career advice

Table of Contents

Eighth-graders will have a chance to explore careers at the Chamber RVA's "Mission Tomorrow" career fair Oct. 18 and 19 at Richmond Raceway.

The event will feature representatives from more than 140 employers. More than 12,000 eighth-graders are scheduled to attend the event, where they will be able to have fun, participate in interactive booths and learn about a number of business and government jobs.

Students will be able to ask about job responsibilities, as well as salary ranges and advancement opportunities. They also will be able to learn about the educational requirements of various jobs and use that information to plan as they move into high school and beyond.

The event will offer tours of the career fair for parents and guardians each morning from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Parents and guardians can see what their students will experience at Mission Tomorrow and talk later with them about careers the students found interesting.

Parents and guardians also may volunteer at the event. To register, visit ChamberRVA’s website at http://www.chamberrva.com/volunteers/.
