The Country Club of Virginia won the 31st annual Thalhimer Challenge tennis tournament Sept. 22, a four-day event that features 396 doubles matches between the region's 12 largest clubs.

The Westwood Club finished second, while ACAC was third. The event serves as the Richmond Tennis Association's largest fundraiser of the year.

“This weekend event is a big reason why Richmond is considered one of the best tennis towns in America,” said Cushman and Wakefield | Thalhimer President and CEO Lee Warfield. “Thalhimer supports the Richmond Tennis Association in its mission as a non-profit to encourage the growth and love of tennis in the greater Richmond region."

The tournament took place at Westwood and Salisbury Country Club in Chesterfield. Money raised from the event helps the RTA promote tennis in the Metro Richmond community by creating pathways for juniors to learn the game, supporting tournaments for adults, and bringing tennis to underserved youth and communities.
