'Camera to Canvas' auction to benefit James River Park

The Friends of the James River Park (FOJRP) will hold a charity fundraising auction September 22 at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. The auction will feature both live and silent components, in addition to complimentary cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and music.
“Camera to Canvas," taking place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will feature original works of art inspired by images from the collection of photographer Bill Draper, paired with artwork from some of the region's most prominent artists. Draper, an FOJRP board member, is the author of the coffee table book “A Photographic Journey through the James River Park System.”
The scheduled artists will choose an image from Draper’s collection and create an original work based on that image. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on individual works or paired sets (a Draper image and a matching original artwork).
