Henrico nonprofit C2Adopt held its 13th annual golf tournament Sept. 14, raising a record $33,000 benefiting programs and services for children in the Virginia foster care system needing permanent adoptive families.

For the first time, the tournament was held at The Federal Club in Glen Allen, where club professional Tim Dale welcomed 128 golfers hailing from Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas as well as Virginia.  An adoptive father himself, Dale has supported C2Adopt's tournament for the last eight years.

A round-robin tennis tournament was also included in the event for the first time, in addition to the traditional putting contest, won by Clay Alliston.

The winning team of Errol Iachini, Mark Lange, Rob Patton, and Josh Binford (pictured above) shot a 55 in the captain's choice tournament.

Following a silent auction and raffle, the tournament concluded with dinner and awards presentations. Rich Richardson (pictured above), a 13-year supporter of the tournament, was presented with C2Adopt's first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.  Richardson's wife, Sharon, co-founded the organization 32 years ago and the couple has adopted nine children (now adults) over the years from the foster care system.
