Butterfly festival and plant sale scheduled June 15

Henrico County Master Gardeners will hold a Butterfly Festival and Plant Sale June 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at Short Pump Park, 3329 Pump Road. The event will feature a butterfly display, an information booth, free distribution of the "New Native Plants for Virginia's Capital Region" guide, a caterpillar crawl tunnel and other activities for children and more.
The plant sale will include more than 75 species of master-gardener-propagated plants at low prices, along with more than 200 nursery-grown plants. There will be four species of milkweed for monarch butterflies and parsley and fennel for black swallowtails, as well as coneflower, a nectar-rich plant that attracts butterflies.
