Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer recently announced the following lease transactions in Henrico County: Planet Fitness – leased 19,286 SF of retail space at 6303 West Broad Street (James Ashby IV and Nicki Jassy represented the tenant); O’Reilly Auto Parts – leased an additional 14,799 SF of retail space for a total of 32,799 SF at Staples Mill Shopping Center, 4026 Glenside Drive (Alex T. Wotring and James Ashby IV represented the landlord); Mungo Homes – leased 7,231 SF of office space at 10571 Telegraph Road (Amy J. Broderick and Kate Hosko represented the landlord); Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls – leased 1,200 SF of retail space at The Shoppes at Westgate, 11709 West Broad Street (David Crawford represented the tenant and Alex T. Wotring represented the landlord).


Moving Made Easy, LLC recently leased 2,450 SF at 5711 Charles City Circle in Varina from landlord, Byrd LLC. John Jay Schwartz, managing director of Have Site Will Travel and The Man with Square Feet, represented the tenant.


DPR Construction recently completed a new 15,000-square-foot office in Glen Allen, where it will locate its 265 local employees with an expanded, open workspace. DPR has a long history in Central Virginia, dating back to 1996 when the company constructed the White Oak semiconductor manufacturing campus in Sandston. The company's new Innsbrook office (in the former ECPI University at 4305 Cox Road) qualified for Henrico's Technology Zone program, through which the company's building and permit fees were waived. DPR invested $3 million in the facility. DPR's Richmond team focuses on advanced technology, commercial, healthcare, higher education and life science projects, with a portfolio ranging from $100,000 to more than $1 billion.


A new Chick-fil-A restaurant recently opened in Eastern Henrico at 4808 Nine Mile Road, near its intersection with South Laburnum Avenue. It is open for dine-in, drive-through, carry-out and delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with extended hours until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The new location is owned and operated by Greg Williams, who also operates the Chick-fil-A at nearby White Oak Village. The restaurant will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which donates surplus food to local soup kitchens and shelters.


Virginia Career Works will host a Career Readiness Workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at its Henrico Center, 121 Cedar Fork Road. The topic will be “Mock Interviewing” and expert guest facilitators from Genworth Financial will provide insights and guidance into helping applicants stand out and cultivate professional development strategies.
