First Tee – Greater Richmond recently announced two additions to its full-time staff: Chevonne Braxton will serve as the organization’s director of education and outreach, where she will oversee First Tee’s School Program and Community Program initiatives; and Emily Weinstein will serve as vice president of development, where she will lead the organization’s fundraising efforts. Braxton previously was the director of internships at Partnership for the Future and also spent 10 years with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond where her last role was senior program director. She is a graduate of Lynchburg College. Weinstein returns to First Tee after previously serving the organization in a variety of capacities from 2009-2018. She most recently was the director of talent at Thought Logic Consulting. She is a graduate of Duke University. Braxton and Weinstein started their tenures on Sept. 5.


Bank of America recently awarded $165,000 in grants to 10 local nonprofit organizations. Bank of America directs funding toward organizations that offer critical services, promote diversity in the workforce, and support individuals and families in their pursuit of success. This is the second round of local grants the company has awarded to local nonprofits this year. The 10 recipients are: Better Housing Coalition, The James River Association, CultureWorks Inc., Habitat for Humanity International Inc., Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, Metropolitan Richmond Sports Backers Inc., Partnership for Housing Affordability, Richmond Performing Arts Alliance, The Maggie Walker Community Land Trust, and Virginia Historical Society.
