HCA Virginia

Eleven HCA Virginia Health System hospitals, including Henrico Doctors' Hospital and Parham Doctors' Hospital in Henrico County, recently earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. A national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care, Leapfrog assigns an A-F grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.


Mellow Mushroom, located at 12171 West Broad Street in Short Pump, recently launched its seasonal Blitzen holiday cocktail. The restaurant will donate $1 to the World Pediatric Project for every Blitzen cocktail sold now through the end of the year. The cocktail is a mix of Flor de Caña 7 Year Rum, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, tart Monin Pomegranate, fresh sour, and a splash of soda water. The World Pediatric Project provides pediatric surgical and specialty care to children in need throughout the Caribbean and Central America.
