The Barnes & Noble at 9850 Brook Road in Glen Allen recently announced its closure on social media. The last day will be Sunday, June 23. The location has been open for 23 years but made the decision to close as the landlord has chosen to redevelop. As part of the closing, all books are currently 25% off, and games and gifts are at 40% off. A new restaurant is planned in the former 3,500-square-foot Burger King location at the corner of East Parham and Staples Mill roads, Richmond BizSense recently reported. Homeward Kitchen, a fast-casual concept from Golden Corral, filed its plans with Henrico County last month. While Golden Corral operates as a buffet, Homeward Kitchen is designed for carryout and drive-thru. The new chain will focus on Southern comfort food.

Virginia Career Works—Capital Region will host Job Club, a networking group for job seekers that also teaches valuable job skills, every fourth Tuesday of the month.
