Bon Secours Richmond recently named Joanne Cooke its Leader of the Year for 2021 during its first annual Celebration Event which celebrated the many successes of 2021. Cooke, who just celebrated 25 years in the nursing profession, serves as the administrative director of emergency services and behavioral health at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Henrico County. Cooke also graduated from Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. Cooke was honored for her “positive yet realistic presence” and as someone who leads by example. Most notably, Cooke has actively voiced concerns regarding the recent increased risk of violence against health care providers. She ignited a passion among her team for protecting employees and she championed a “no tolerance” stance for violence in Bon Secours facilities. In addition to her leadership in striving for excellence, she actively coaches and mentors her team, providing professional development and empowering their growth.


Bon Secours, which is part of Bon Secours Mercy Health, recently announced that it was named the recipient of the Medicus Integra Award, which was conceived and developed by The Coalition for Physician Well-Being. The award is based upon the belief that physician resilience and wellbeing is not only good for physicians, but conducive to healthy organizational culture and essential to quality patient care, and that healthcare organizations should be intentional in developing strategies to help promote physician wellness and prevent burnout. To qualify, nominating organizations must submit comprehensive documentation identifying and itemizing their efforts and results in four key categories: resilience, learning, business and quality, and culture.


Pediatric Headache Center of Richmond, PLLC recently leased 2,405 SF at 2819 North Parham Road, Suite 290, in Henrico County. Rebecca von Meister of Taylor Long Properties represented the tenant.


Allison Wickens, Magdalena Tahamtani, Brandon Stokes and Michelle Rhodes recently joined EXIT First Realty in Glen Allen.


Dana K. Schnurman

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer recently announced that Dana K. Schnurman was promoted to senior portfolio manager. Schnurman has been with Thalhimer since 2014 and is responsible for all day-to-day and fiscal operations for a commercial portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties in the Richmond metropolitan area. She is a 2011 graduate of Longwood University.
