Gearharts Fine Chocolates will open a location in the Short Pump Station shopping center at 11301 West Broad Street in early February, Richmond BizSense recently reported. Gearharts operated a store on Libbie Avenue for more than a decade but closed it approximately a year ago. In addition to being a chocolate shop, the new store also will feature a dessert café with cookies, cakes, pastries, coffee and hot chocolate. Tim Gearhart founded the company with co-owner Bill Hamilton in 2001.


Mission BBQ recently launched its Hometown Heroes Cup Campaign. A portion of the proceeds from each blue cup sold will go directly to local first responder foundations such as the Henrico Police Foundation and the Henrico Firefighter Foundation. A new Enterprise Truck Rental location has opened in Henrico to better serve customers in the area, the company recently announced. The new location is at 1109 East Nine Mile Road in Highland Springs and will provide rental trucks for business and personal use, including cargo vans, box trucks, and tow-capable pickup trucks.


Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer has been selected by Colonnades West VA LP as the exclusive leasing and property management service for the Colonnades West retail center located at West Broad Street and Cox Road in Henrico. The 136,082-square-foot center hosts tenants including Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Shoe Carnival, Men’s Wearhouse, and the new-to-market PGA Tour Superstore. There is currently space available from 1,820 to 3,910 square feet. James Ashby IV and Danielle Beckstoffer of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer are the leasing representatives. Dwayne A. Faria, CPM, of Thalhimer’s Commercial Property Services Group, is the portfolio manager for the shopping center.


3512 Mayland Court LLC recently purchased 3512 Mayland Court, a 2,560-square-foot flex condominium, from Thomas L. Oliver Jr. for $440,000 as an investment. Henrico County will hold a job fair Tuesday, Jan. 16 to launch its “Build Your Career, Better Your Community” hiring campaign, which highlights the county’s benefits package and the advantages of careers in public service. The fair, which is free and open to all job-seekers, will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the administrative office of the Division of Recreation & Parks, 6800 Staples Mill Road. Henrico is looking to fill dozens of vacant positions, which are posted at henrico.us/services/jobs. Among others, the following departments and agencies will have representatives at the job fair: the Division of Fire, Division of Police, Sheriff’s Office, James River Juvenile Detention Center, Division of Recreation & Parks, Office of Elections & Voter Registration, Department of Public Works, Department of Public Utilities, Department of Emergency Management & Workplace Safety, Henrico County Public Library, Department of Emergency Communications, Henrico Area Mental Health & Developmental Services, Department of Social Services, Internal Audit and Capital Region Workforce Partnership.
