The Latin Ballet of Virginia recently announced an award of $25,000 from the Altria Companies Employee Community Fund (ACECF) through the employee-led Giving Together Program. Employee volunteers make all ACECF funding decisions, and every employee dollar raised goes directly to support area nonprofits. The award comes at a particularly critical time. Since cancelling all live activities beginning March 2020, the Latin Ballet has suffered revenue losses yet continued to compensate all its artists. Latin Ballet Artistic Director Ana Ines King says the grant will allow dancers to keep training for the next season while continuing to create new online content.
