Colliers International recently announced the following lease transactions in Henrico County: RVA Bakehouse Inc. – leased 2,096 SF at 5001 Libbie Mill East Boulevard (Peter Vick and Harrison Hall represented the landlord); Josh Poling Insurance Agency, Inc. – renewed its lease of 506 SF at 1504 Santa Rosa Road (Gray Bryant and John Carpin represented the landlord); Commonwealth of Virginia—Department of General Services – renewed its lease of 21,464 SF at 1610 Forest Avenue (Malcolm Randolph and Catherine Walker represented the landlord).


Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer recently announced the following lease transactions in Henrico County: Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. – leased 3,000 SF of retail space at Westpark Shopping Center, 9645 West Broad Street (James Ashby IV and Annie O’Connor represented the landlord); Unsprung Upholstery Co. – renewed its lease of 2,941 SF of retail space at Hub Shopping Center, 6913-6945 Lakeside Avenue (Richard L. Thalhimer represented the landlord); JuJu Bee’s, LLC – renewed its lease of 2,500 SF of retail space at Lakeside Town Center, 6920 Lakeside Avenue (Richard L. Thalhimer represented the landlord); Colonial Downs Group, LLC – expanded with an additional lease of 1,530 SF of retail space at Staples Mill Shopping Center, 4026 Glenside Drive (Alex T. Wotring and James Ashby IV represented the landlord).


Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park celebrated its grand opening April 12 in Henrico. The new facility, located at 10050 West Broad Street in Glen Allen in a structure that once housed Bed, Bath and Beyond, offers a variety of activities – from trampolines and a warrior course to bumper cars, laser tag and a tubes playground and ropes course. It also features a cafe that will serve alcohol. Chandan Suri and Sachin Gupta are the franchise operators of the new location. Urban Air opened its first location in Southlake, Texas in 2011 and has since opened or announced plans for more than 350 other locations in 38 states and Ontario, Canada. The new Henrico location is the latest entrant in the trampoline-themed entertainment space in the county, joining Surge Adventure Park at Regency, and Sky Zone locations adjacent to Short Pump Town Center and at Virginia Center.


Cities Bar and Grill, located at 8004 West Broad Street in Henrico, officially closed April 19, according to a post on their social media channels. The restaurant had been open for five years.


MINISO, a lifestyle retailer, will open a store May 3 in Henrico's Olde Towne Shopping Center at 7801 West Broad Street, next to Buffalo Wild Wings. MINISO offers a variety of products, including collaborations with brands like Sanrio, Disney, Pixar, Harry Potter, Chiikawa, Peanuts, We Bare Bears and others. The store also is known for its fan-favorite “blind boxes,” a mystery-based collectible concept that offers unknown items. To celebrate the grand opening, the first 50 customers at the new store May 3 (beginning at 11 a.m.) will receive a 20% discount on their entire purchase. A 10% discount on items storewide will be in effect the entire grand opening weekend. MINISO operates more than 7,000 stores worldwide, including one at Short Pump Town Center. Store hours have not yet been announced.


Barnes & Noble is planning to reopen in July its store at The Creeks at Virginia Centre, 9840 Brook Road in Glen Allen, according to a report from Axios Richmond. That location closed last summer after a 23-year run. It is one of 60 stores the bookseller plans to open this year.


The Omni Richmond Hotel will hold a hiring event for housekeeping staff at Virginia Career Works—Henrico Center, 121 Cedar Fork Road, on Wednesday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Full-time positions include housekeeping supervisor, public space attendant, room attendant, lobby attendant, laundry attendant, and others.
