A private investor recently purchased the 4,210-square-foot site of a Jiffy Lube at 5710 West Broad Street from Howard J. Varinsky & Leslie W. Gould Revocable Trust for $2.2 million as an investment. Jiffy Lube will remain in operation there. James Ashby IV of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the purchaser.


Draper Aden Associates, a Mid-Atlantic engineering, surveying and environmental services firm, recently announced that Ernest “Ernie” Hoch joined the firm as environmental team leader in the Richmond office. With a vast array of executive experience in the private and public sector, Hoch has held a variety of senior manager roles for over 30 years, including as a county administrator. His extensive background in facilities, sales and marketing, finance and budgeting, economic development, and executive management will help Hoch lead and continue to expand the firm’s Environmental Division in the Richmond region and throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

HCA Virginia’s Parham Doctors’ Hospital is the first in Virginia to offer a new approach that provides relief for patients suffering from chronic low back pain (CLBP). Performed by Dr. Daniel Martin, spine interventionist who practices at Parham Doctors’ Hospital, the Intracept procedure is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure which targets a nerve located in the spine. It is indicated for patients who have experienced chronic low back pain for at least six months and have not responded to at least six months of conservative care. The procedure takes approximately 60-90 minutes and does not involve an implant nor change the structure of the spine. The Intracept procedure is supported by two randomized control trials with over 350 patients enrolling in the trials.
