Senior Helpers, a provider of personalized in-home senior care, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 10 to mark the official opening of its Richmond location at 9165 Atlee Rd. in Mechanicsville. The new franchise will serve senior citizens and their families throughout the Richmond area, including Henrico County, and expects to bring more than 20 new jobs to the region over the next year. Founded in 2001, Senior Helpers provides professionally trained caregivers to help local seniors continue to enjoy the comfort of their own home despite age-related illnesses and mobility challenges. In the Richmond area, the franchise will be managed and operated by Wayne and Barbara Wilkins, who experienced the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia within their own families. Local Subway restaurants across central Virginia collectively donated $10,000 to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The contribution represents 15 percent of sales from every Reuben Footlong sandwich purchased during the six-week holiday campaign, which ran Nov. 20 through December.


Lynne Robinson

OrthoVirginia, the state’s largest provider of multi-disciplinary musculoskeletal care and therapy, recently announced that Lynne Robinson has been hired as chief administrative officer for the Richmond office. Robinson comes to OrthoVirginia from PartnerMD in Richmond where she served as COO, chief relationship officer, and chief business development officer. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has a degree in business administration from Radford University. At OrthoVirginia, Robinson will provide strategic operational leadership to deliver on the practice’s objectives of providing high quality, cost-effective care through innovative orthopedic techniques and care delivery systems.
