Brian Shaw

Henrico-based World Pediatric Project recently named Brian D. Shaw as executive vice president. In the newly created role, Shaw will lead the development and communications teams and work alongside CEO Susan Rickman to achieve WPP’s growth goals. Prior to joining WPP, Shaw was senior executive director of the office of the president and senior executive director of special projects at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before joining VCU, Shaw served as president of the George C. Marshall Foundation in Lexington, Va. He also served as vice president at Washington and Lee University. Shaw is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the executive program at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. World Pediatric Project is a nonprofit organization that seeks to bridge the gap in access to pediatric advanced medical care.


OrthoVirginia has announced the association of Ryan Gocke, M.D. in Richmond. Dr. Gocke specializes in spine surgery. He attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. for his undergraduate education and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at West Virginia University and did a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Gocke was an orthopaedic surgeon with the United States Special Operations Command, was a SEAL Team Spine Surgeon, and had multiple combat deployments with Special Operations Forces. Dr. Gocke joined the practice July 1 and is now accepting new patients at the OrthoVirginia Chippenham office.
