TemperPack has announced that it would invest $10.4 million to establish a manufacturing operation in Henrico County, which will add 1414 jobs. It will be the company’s second facility in Virginia. TemperPack, founded in 2015, is a Richmond-headquartered manufacturer of sustainable thermal insulation used to ship perishable goods. TemperPack aims to fill packaging needs through sustainable design.


The Brink’s Co., a Henrico-based provider of secure logistics and cash management services, plans to acquire competitor Dunbar Armored, Inc. of Maryland for $520 million, the company announced last week. The move would make Brink's the nation's highest revenue-generating business in the industry, at about $1.1 billion annually; Brink's ranks second today, while Dunbar ranks fourth. Brink's operates more than 12,000 armored trucks worldwide (including 2,000 in the United States). Approval by federal antitrust officials is expected to come later this year.


American Family Fitness gyms in the Richmond area – including two locations in Henrico County – recently participated in the 2018 Komen Central Virginia Race for the Cure. Their team, AMFAM United, raised over $2,800 in support of the nonprofit Susan G. Komen Central Virginia, an organization that promotes ongoing breast cancer awareness, patient assistance and research. AMFAM United is a community program at American Family Fitness that provides members and friends an opportunity to volunteer their time and raise money to strengthen communities. Since it started in 2017, AMFAM United has donated over $6,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

($400,000); David and Ethel Burford at 10701 Staples Mill Rd. ($310,000); and Mohauddin and Nahid Taeb at 10691 Staples Mill Rd. ($265,000).

Glen Allen-based Weichert, Realtors – Baron & Snipes, Co. has announced their 2017 Office Award winners. Realtor Aekta Chawla was named the top producing agent at the Weichert affiliate last year, earning the prestigious Ambassador Club Award. In addition, three other agents were honored by the national franchise organization for their 2017 sales production. Realtor Greg Baron also received an Ambassador Club Award, while Realtors Keith Smith and Jim Mullenaux earned the Executive Club Award and Sales Achievement Award, respectively. All awards are based on achieving specified production requirements in gross commission income or number of real estate transactions closed in 2017.
