Jeff Lighthiser, PE, president and CEO of Draper Aden Associates, recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Richmond Joint Engineers’ Council. RJEC only occasionally honors a local engineer with its lifetime achievement designation. The award has been bestowed just four times in the past 15 years. Recipients have made a significant contribution to the engineering profession in the greater Richmond metropolitan area throughout their career through the application of engineering principles, development of new technology, or refinement of existing technology. Lighthiser, based in the firm’s Henrico County headquarters, has been a part of the DAA team for 42 years. During his tenure with DAA, he has played an integral role in the firm’s expansion in the Mid Atlantic. Notable projects include University of Richmond, the State Capitol, Mead Westvaco (now WestRock) corporate headquarters, Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. He has been a strong supporter of young professionals in the engineering field, as well as several, local public and private organizations.
Elnetta J. Burke, of Henrico, a Modern Woodmen of America representative, recently completed a five‑day training program at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, Ill. The program focused on helping families plan for life and reach their financial goals with Modern Woodmen. Speakers also covered topics including technology, fraternalism, underwriting and several other areas vital for success. Modern Woodmen of America is a financial services organization.
Henrico-based Eisenman & Associates, Inc. recently hired Jessica Bello as director of operations and meetings. She will help oversee a variety of meetings for E&A’s clients. Bello is a graduate of George Mason University who has more than 10 years of professional experience, including time with an association management firm, Virginia Commonwealth University, and an industrial trade association. Eisenman & Associates, Inc. is an association management and meetings consulting company.
