HCA Virginia’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital has been named one of Virginia’s top hospitals and workplaces for nurses. Out of 107 Virginia hospitals, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital ranks 12th on the list of top hospitals to work for and has one of the highest levels of job satisfaction among its nurses. Nurse.org collected over 1,000 surveys from Virginia nurses over the past two years, encouraging a safe platform on which nurses can leave honest and anonymous workplace reviews. Henrico Doctors’ Hospital reviewers cited supportive coworkers, flexible scheduling, and competitive pay, ranking the facility with an overall 4-star rating via Nurse.org. Eighty-eight percent of Henrico Doctors’ nurses recommended the facility to others as a great place to work.


CancerLINC, a nonprofit organization established to connect cancer patients and their families with legal assistance as well as financial and community resources, has received a $5,000 grant from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Dominion Energy. The funds will be used to support CancerLINC’s core services, which are provided at no charge, throughout 2018. The organization primarily serves Greater Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights and 13 surrounding counties, along with clients who are being treated in the area’s healthcare facilities. Dominion Energy launched the new year with more than $1 million in Critical Community Needs grants to help feed, shelter and care for people in need across the company’s footprint. Donations were shared by 161 nonprofit organizations providing critical community services in 11 states.


Kevin Mulloy

Blue Ridge Partners, a management consulting firm, recently announced the promotion of two new managing directors and two new principals in the leadership team. Henrico resident Kevin Mulloy is the new managing director in Washington, D.C. He has focused on innovation and technology management during his 30-plus year career. Prior to joining Blue Ridge Partners, he was EVP of corporate development at Presidio, where he led managed services and corporate development. Previously he was president of IGSC, an Intelstat operating company, and a partner with McKinsey & Company. Mulloy is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in mechanical engineering and a graduate of The Wharton School, where he earned his MBA in 1990.

HCA Virginia’s Henrico Doctors’ Hospital announced recently that it has received the Healthgrades 2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence.  The distinction recognizes Henrico Doctors’ Hospital as one of the top five percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for its clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. From 2014-2016, patients treated in hospitals receiving Healthgrades' Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence had, on average, a 26.3 percent lower risk of dying (across 19 procedures and conditions where mortality is the clinical outcome) than if they were treated in hospitals that did not achieve this distinction.
