Henrico Police have confirmed that the body found next to a car in a Varina cornfield yesterday is that of a missing Bottoms Up Pizza employee.

The remains of 26-year-old Hope Ann Aheimer of Henrico were positively confirmed, police said today. Her body and car were found in a cornfield along New Market Road, not far from Varina High School, Tuesday afternoon. She had not been seen since leaving her job at about 11 p.m. July 4.

Police yesterday were notified of a suspicious situation after someone noticed the vehicle (later identified as Aheimer’s) in the cornfield, across from Rockingham Street in Varina. As officers responded and received additional information, they determined that the vehicle's plate matched that of Aheimer.

Police are continuing to investigate Aheimer’s death. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything is asked to contact Detective Ensor at 804-501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
