BHE GT&S, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, is moving its headquarters to Innsbrook and will become the second company to announce a commitment since the creation of the Innsbrook Tech Zone last year.

The zone is designed to incentivize specific types of businesses to locate in Innsbrook by providing them with reduced fees and business personal property taxes, as well as custom agreements in some cases. (EAB previously announced it would invest more than $6 million and bring more than 200 jobs to enhance its existing presence in Henrico.)

BHE GT&S will take over the former Capital One complex, two class A buildings with roughly 192,000 square feet. The company spent $20.75 million to purchase the site from Capital One completed earlier this month.

“We are excited to congratulate BHE GT&S on expanding its corporate headquarters in the heart of Innsbrook,” said Brookland District Supervisor Dan Schmitt. “BHE GT&S’s continued investment in Henrico County speaks to the company’s confidence in our pro-business climate and reliable workforce pipeline. The decision to take advantage of the Technology Zone at Innsbrook is illustrative of the county’s commitment to supporting new and exciting business growth.”

Innsbrook recently was recognized as one of the best places to live in America by Stacker.
