Turner Hart, a 17-year-old from Ashland, is entered into the Bassmaster Northern Open, a pro fishing event taking place May 13-15 at Osborne Park and Boat Landing.

The senior at Patrick Henry H. S. has captured two tournament wins as well as eight Top 5 finishes and two Top 20s.  He and his partner Nick Bradley finished second in the B.A.S.S. Hart has now made the National Championship in back- to-back years.  He was one of only 12 high school anglers/students named to Bassmaster’s High School All-American Team.

In addition to fishing tournaments, Hart participates in cleanup activities along the Chickahominy and James rivers. He maintains a 3.9 GPA and is a midfielder on the PHHS varsity soccer team, where as a sophomore he was named leading scorer and offensive MVP.

Hart's father, Steve, is division manager for Henrico Recreation and Parks.
