The Henrico Christmas Mother program has named Maria Vidal Bagley as Christmas Mother for 2022.

Bagley’s family arrived in the United States as Cuban refugees in 1962, when she was just 6 months old. In the years since, Bagley has devoted herself to community service.

She has been a resident of Henrico County since she was in second grade and is a graduate of Hermitage High School. She later attended VCU and The Braxton School of Business. She currently works at NewMarket Corporation as the corporate executive assistant to the CEO. She’s also active in her church and volunteers with a number of community organizations.

Since 2014, Bagley has used her Spanish language skills to help Henrico Christmas Mother’s Spanish-speaking clients navigate the application process.

In her free time, she enjoys singing, reading, traveling, going for walks with her husband, Sam, and puppy, Molly, and spending time with family and friends.

The Henrico Christmas Mother program provides food, new clothing, books, toys, and other gift items to qualifying Henrico County families with children, seniors, and adults with disabilities during the holiday season – a tradition that began in 1942.
