Average number of new daily COVID cases in Henrico continues to fall

Henrico has reported 85 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, its fourth straight day with fewer than 100 new cases reported, following nine days with more than 100 apiece.

The average number of new daily cases in the county continues to drop precipitously, down to 107 five days after peaking at 148.

Henrico's 7-day positivity PCR positivity percentage, however, continues to increase, reaching 8.9% as of Dec. 14. Its 7-day positivity percentage among rapid (antigen) tests was slightly higher – 9.6% as of Dec. 13.

Henrico now has recorded a total of 10,345 cases. Two new hospitalizations among Henrico citizens related to the virus also were reported Thursday by the Virginia Department of Health.

The county is reporting an average of 1,247 PCR tests and 416 rapid tests per day, as of Dec. 13. The latter number has increased from 309 Dec. 1.
